The former Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Youssef, was martyred in a ruthless bombing by the Israeli army in Gaza.

According to Arab media reports, Israeli planes targeted Sheikh Yusuf’s residence in Maghazi refugee camp, resulting in his martyrdom. Additionally, members of Sheikh Yusuf’s family were injured in the Israeli attack.

Sheikh Yusuf, aged 68, previously served as the Minister of Religious Affairs of Palestine from 2005 to 2006. As of now, there has been no statement from Israel regarding the martyrdom of the former preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It is crucial to note that the Israeli army’s air, land, and naval attacks on residential areas in Gaza persist, resulting in the martyrdom of over 150 Palestinians in the last 24 hours.

The total number of Palestinian martyrs in the ongoing attacks since October 7 has now reached 21,800. As reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the overall number of injuries in Israeli attacks has reached 56,451.

The World Food Program has issued a plea for a ceasefire and the unimpeded delivery of aid in Gaza to avert a looming famine affecting millions in the New Year.

Contrarily, a report from a British newspaper highlighted that despite the brutal bombings in Gaza and the tragic loss of thousands of lives, Israel is not showing signs of success; rather, it is experiencing a growing “global isolation.
