Former president Zardari is in isolation with ‘mild symptoms’ after testing positive for Covid-19: Bilawal
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Thursday that his father, former President Asif Ali Zardari, has tested positive for Covid-19.
“He is fully vaccinated, boosted, isolated with mild symptoms and undergoing treatment. We pray for his speedy recovery,” Bilawal said on Twitter.
Earlier this week, Zardari went to Dubai to celebrate his 67th birthday with his nine-month-old grandson. The co-chairman of the People’s Party was born on 26 July 1955.
Meanwhile, the former president’s daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari said she had tested positive for PCR when she arrived in Dubai.
He reiterated that Zardari’s symptoms were mild, adding that he was resting and was on his fourth day of isolation. He added that he would return after recovery.
“Thank you for your prayers and reminding everyone to be careful,” he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent prayers and best wishes for Zardari’s “speedy recovery and full health”.
In the last 24 hours, 761 new cases and eight deaths were reported in the country. The positivity rate was recorded at 3.65 percent.
