The former Prime Minister told DW News with Melissa Chan that he was shot and that it could take him four weeks to recover. Imran Khan stated that the incumbent government is the most dangerous to them because of the PTI’s unprecedented popularity, adding that the PTI won the by-elections with a huge majority even after its government was deposed.

The PTI Chairman went on to say that terrorism cases had been filed against him, and that journalists who tried to tell the truth or were critical of government parties had been targeted.

Concerning the November 3 incident, he stated that they attempted to kill him under the guise of religion, and he had previously warned about this in September.

The host journalist inquired as to why he was not taking any precautions. In response, Imran Khan stated that after being ousted from the government, he had only two options: sit at home or risk their lives in front of the public. He went with the second option and has been out in public for the past six months.

“I am confident that my party will win the next election, and the rulers are delaying the election out of fear,” Imran Khan said.

Continuing his criticism of the coalition government, he stated that the country is on the verge of bankruptcy and that the economy is unstable. Foreign investment will only come if the country is politically stable. No one will invest from abroad in a country that is already experiencing economic difficulties, he claims.

In response to a question about waiting until the next elections, he stated that the PTI’s long march poses no threat to democracy. Imran Khan lashed out at those who plotted to destabilise his government. He claimed that members of the party’s National Assembly were unconstitutionally bought with millions of dollars during their tenure, and that they were deposed.
