Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday began its nationwide inquiry into how PTI used finances from “prohibited” sources after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ruled that the party received illicit donations. The inquiry was first announced a day earlier.

Six investigations have been launched at once in Pakistan’s biggest cities, including the federal capital Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and Karachi. 13 accounts through which these monies were transferred have been identified, according to FIA authorities, and the agency has sent letters to the institutions under which these accounts have been operating.

In order to assist the inquiry teams with their investigation, courts have also ordered these banks to provide entire information on these bank accounts to the FIA. A letter from PTI founding member Akbar S. Babar asking for an investigation into the PTI’s receipt of finances through accounts opened in the names of subordinate staff served as the impetus for the investigation.

FIA summons PTI executives and staff. Asad Qaiser, a senior PTI leader and former speaker of the National Assembly, and Punjab Minister Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid were also called in for questioning by the investigating agency. Four PTI secretariat officials were contacted by the FIA a day earlier to provide statements in connection with their investigation into the money laundering and misappropriation of these funds.

I want to remind the imported government that we are not afraid of such filthy techniques, Qaiser posted on Twitter after confirming that he had gotten a notification from FIA.

“The imported government should avoid using national institutions for political retaliation,” he advised, advising them to sow as much as they can bear later.

Qaiser has been summoned to the FIA Peshawar office on August 11 (Thursday) at 2 p.m.

According to the notice sent to the former speaker, according to the verdict in Akbar S Babar’s case, Qaiser has two bank accounts and is associated with the operation of those two accounts; thus, he has been summoned before the inquiry team to answer questions about the bank accounts.
