Boxing History

Boxing history – Boxing is one of the most popular games, especially in Europe and America. Legends such as Muhammad Ali, Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Benny Leonard, Mickey Walker, along with many stars, brought the sport worldwide fame. Boxing was formerly known as Pugilism, which means sweet science. Historical evidence suggests that boxing became widespread in North Africa in 4000 BC. It was played among the people in Greece and Rome.

The rules were rough at the time, and boxers often took part in deadly boxing rounds with skin on their bare hands. In ancient Rome, boxers were generally considered criminals and slaves. They played to win the game and gain independence. At the same time, the facts point to free men fighting for the spirit of competition and sport. Finally, Augustus is known to have banned wars. In 500 AH, Theodoric is said to have banned the sport due to its popularity and growing distraction from public life.

Boxing went straight to the 21st century with grace and applause.In 1902, a London dentist named Jack Marles invented the first mouthpiece for boxers. Mouth guards are mainly designed for training.

In 1913, middleweight fighter Ted “Kid” Lewis became the first boxer to use a protective mouthpiece on his award ring. The mouthpiece soon became popular and became popular in boxing.The founding of the National Boxing Association (NBA) in 1927 provided a fair governing body to investigate the game and its success. The main goal of the NBA was to organize championships among the best talents and look at the ethics of boxing and the popularity of the game.

Today there are three world boxing organizations – WBC, IBF and WBA. The International Amateur Boxing Association was founded in 1946 and is the first international organization for amateur boxing.Some of the most famous names in the history of boxing include heavyweight Gene Tunney, Corbett and Sullivan, lightweight champions Barney Ross and Henry Armstrong.
